Mrs. Andrea Painting Painting Announced Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to the Arcanum-Butler Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Andrea Painting!

"Education isn't about just teaching kids to read and write, it is about instilling in them the values and work ethic it takes to make it in the real world.  That is why I chose this profession. I would not be the teacher I am today without the support of my teammates, current and past students, and an administration that puts kids first." - Andrea Painting

Attendance Updates - HB410 Excessive Absenteeism

In December, 2016, the Ohio General Assembly passed House Bill 410 that included rules and procedures related to Excessive Absenteeism that further emphasize the importance of school attendance.  A letter will be sent home with all students outlining the major changes and how it impacts your child's attendance.  To view the letter now and updated attendance policy, click here.  For further information and frequently asked questions visit the Ohio Department of Education link here.

There are many legitimate reasons that students miss school, however, regular attendance is a key factor in students' academic success.  The district looks forward to working together to ensure that all students have the opportunity to learn and grown while attending school.

2016-2017 State Report Card Released

The Ohio Department of Education recently released report cards for Ohio's School Districts.  The report card is intended to give you a picture of how our district and buildings are performing using letter grades A-F to grade various measures under six broad categories:  Achievement, Progress, Gap Closing, Graduation Rate, K-3 Literacy and Prepared for Success.  The 2016-2017 State Report Card marks just the second year of the report card using consistent metrics measures, namely AIR student assessments.  However, the threshold for passage on each indicator increased to 80%, an increase of 5-20% depending on the specific subject content area.  The following reflects the district report card results.
