The Arcanum-Butler
Local School District provides a caring and safe environment where students
are challenged to become lifelong learners and productive citizens.
In the elementary arts, students K-4, get the foundation to build technical
skills, as well as broaden their creativity and imagination; skills that
will be life long gifts. My teaching style is both hands on and history
based, which I feel gives students both the
technical knowledge and background to build a creative data base.

In elementary Physical Education class, we start learning the basic gross
motor skills to help improve balance and coordination. Slowly we start to
apply the skills to game situations. Students learn how to show good
sportsmanship and how to use teamwork when playing games.
There are two big events that happen each year in P.E. class. The first is
the opportunity to raise money for the American Heart Association by
participating in the Jump Rope for Heart event. The second is a fun Field
Day at the end of the year in which students can participate with their
class in a variety of competitive and non-competitive games.
